In honour of today being the day Marty McFly arrived in the future, we are asking a special additional Interesting Question of the Day.
Who was the first choice to play the role of Doc Brown in the Back to the Future franchise?
The first new player to comment on the website with the correct answer wins a free drink at their next iQ Trivia show.
According to Bob Gale, the co-writer of “Back To The Future”, there were 2 people originally concidered for the role of Doc Brown. They were Jeff Goldblum and John Lithgow.
Here’s a bit of trivia that should win you a free drink at your next IQ trivia night: Disney rejected the movie saying it was “a movie about incest”.
Apparently John Lithgow was closer to being cast. Also, because of the height difference between him and Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd had to hunch over.
And yes, it is one of the more incestuous films out there. I found it odd that they had a child who looked exactly like they guy they knew in high school, and the husband didn’t think that was even a little bit suspicious.
The Number One T-shirt sold at DeLorean conventions reads:
“Doc Brown doesn’t drive a f#cking Mustang”
But he does drive what is apparently one of the world’s more notoriously unreliable cars.
