Trigger warnings have been in the news a lot recently.
This week, to protect people from uncomfortable thoughts, we are asking you to come up with trigger warnings for children’s literature and nursery rhymes.
Examples may include:
The Itsy Bitsy Spider – May be triggering for arachnophobes and people who don’t like rain.
Where the Wild Things Are – Contains a boy missing a meal. May be triggering to anorexics.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas – May be triggering for people who hearts grow three sizes one day.
Anything that warns people about the potentially offensive nature of children’s literature will get a bonus point.
