Team Name Bonus Point – Week of 19 May 2024

A guy went a bit viral recently because he claims to have invented “bottle night”.

Yes, he thinks he invented the idea of hanging out and talking over a bottle of wine.

This week with your team name, we want you to tell us what you “invented”.

I got some chilli and chicken and noodles and invented Thai food.

We take turns driving. I call it “car pooling”.

So I make my voice go up and down using words and rhythm. It’s called “singing”.

You need a ball which you kick around with your foot. It’s a new sport I invented called “football”.

Any dubious claim you have to inventing something will get you a bonus point.

Have an interesting week.

INTERESTING MOMENTS

When we dropped a hint that one of the bar staff was from a country that was the answer to a question, a couple of teams suddenly became very interested in where the bar staff were from.

A question about South American geography led off one quiz, and wrong footed a guy from Chile who only got 2 out of 5.

When we asked about the oldest player to ever win the FIFA World Cup, one team immediately guessed 17. Yes, 17 was the OLDEST they said.

And our leaders in the quarterly tournament are still a win clear.

Team Name Bonus Point – Week of 12 May 2024

You may have heard about the Man Vs Bear debate, where women were asked whether they would rather be alone in the woods with a man or a bear.

It seems a lot of women would prefer the bear.

And it got us thinking, what else would be worse than finding yourself alone with a bear.

INTERESTING MOMENTS

We asked about people who walked on the moon, and one player was absolutely certain that Mark Watney was one of them… only to find out shortly thereafter that not only had Mark Watney not walked on the moon, he wasn’t even real. He was Matt Damon’s character in The Martian.

One team mistook Mr Darcy for Mr Bean. That would have been a very odd literary choice.

One team knew the answer to four out of the five bonus round questions right, but when we asked for the role of Ken, they wrote down the film of Barbie. Which is a reminder to listen to the damn question at all times.

And our leaders maintained top spot in our quarterly tournament, one win clear.
