All mushrooms are fine

INTERESTING MOMENTS

Half of the room loudly sang “I’ve been living next door to Alice”, not once, but twice when we asked for the next line.

We asked for baseball teams beginning with the letter R, and when one team realised we were looking for correct answers, they just wrote “correct” five times. Another team came up with the Rednecks and the Rambos.

Overheard at a quiz… “I know this song, I know this song!”

What is it?”

I don’t know.”

See you next week.

Interesting Question of the Day – 7 August 2023

In a 2012 study, one group of teachers were promised a cash bonus if their students achieved a high enough test score, one group was given cash up front and were told they would have to pay the bonus back if their students didn’t perform well enough, and one group was given no bonus.

Which group performed the best?

The first new player to comment on the website with the correct answer wins a free drink at their next iQ Trivia show.

Team Name Bonus Point – Week of 6 August 2023

This week we’re going to be messing around with definitions.

Specifically, and for no particular reason, we want you to redefine winning to suit you.

I wrote down the wrong answer, but I was thinking of the right answer, so I get credit

If they ignored the other guy’s votes, I would have won

That parked car hit me, so I should get my license

Any self-serving ways to redefine victory will get you a bonus point.

Have an interesting week.

INTERESTING MOMENTS

We had an engineer fail to get a pretty straightforward math question, because as he put it, he’s done with being tested on these things.

A player who was a big enough Radiohead fan to have a Radiohead album on vinyl with them at the quiz, didn’t get a Radiohead question.

And one team nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by listing five actors instead of five films.

See you next week.
