1. Well you have Arctic Terns, and Arctic Foxes and all sorts of other things, but for once I think my Greek studies from uni might be useful, and the answer you are looking for is ‘bears’.

   1. Yep. Knowing Greek pays off. Arktos is Greek for bear.

      So the Arctic Circle is “the circle where bears are”. The Antarctic is “the place without bears”.
