To cap off our week of economics, within $20,000 what is the GDP per square kilometre of Australia.  (That’s GDP Purchasing Power Parity in US dollars as of 2013.)

        1. That’s good thinking (it’s iQ Trivia thinking) but it’s also aiming a bit high.

  1. I’m estimating the GDP at 500 billion (5 * 10^11) and with an area of 7.7 million square km (7.7 * 10^6) the GDP per sq. km is $65000.

  2. I found a reference to a GDP of around 1.2 trillion, which would make the per square km GDP around $155,000.

    1. That’s about it. Certainly within the margin of error.

      A lot of it depends on the exchange rate from USD.
